Ground Beef Bulgogi

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Steamed white rice to serve
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

Whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, gochujang, and rice vinegar in a bowl to make the bulgogi sauce. Set aside.

Brown ground beef in a large skillet over high heat, breaking it up. Do not stir too much — let it develop a sear on the bottom before breaking apart.

Once browned, add minced garlic and ginger. Stir for 60 seconds until fragrant.

Pour the sauce over the beef and toss well. Cook for 2-3 minutes over medium-high heat until the sauce is absorbed and slightly caramelized on the beef.

Serve over steamed rice, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
